It differs a little between the courses what you have to do. So we will have a few subsections. Please open the section of your course to read the details.
For all:
After registration you can make use of our digital ressources that you will find on our secret page. You get the password in the course or with your first welcome e-Mail.
Our Archery range is on the university sports area at Stuttgart-Vaihingen.
Every registered archer*ette from any of the three courses can use the range at the open range times for the whole semester (half year) – the beginners from both courses AFTER there respective beginners course. If you are not from the university: the summer semesters starts in April and runs until September, the winter semester starts in October until March, so the beginners courses are usually in May and November.
We cannot allow guest archers!

Step by Step, what you have to do now.
If you do not register within 2 days and there are other potential beginners on the waiting list, you will lose your spot and we draw a new winner.
If you choose to join the WhatsApp Community, please join the groups “Uni Bogensport – all active archers” and “Uni Bogensport – Recurve New Beginners“. You get the link in your welcoming Email, wait for it for a few days – I wait until all are registered.
I have shopping tips here (-> Links for archery). Usually at shops you can tell them that you need “beginners arrows for a 20lbs (wooden) recurve bow, with a stick-on plastic arrow rest”. That is all a shop owner should need. It doesn’t matter, which color your feathers/vanes are, nor do material or size or form matter. Take what you like, but I recommend carbon shafts. If you are unsure what to get, you can just write me an email or a whatsapp message. You can also use the Whatsapp-Group “Beginners” to arrange a shopping date with the other beginners.
A few things you can do:
Please be there early enough, that we can begin on time 12pm sharp! Especially on the first date. I have to explain a lot, I have to hand out your bows for the semester. All of that I do not want to explain two or three times, and it makes it easier to give you a bow that fits better.
During the semester I will help you further to improve your archery technique – I will not leave you hanging.
If you cannot participate on the three (mandatory!) beginners course dates: please unregister before the course as soon as you know you will not be able to participate after all for whatever reason, and let me know, please. Don’t let this spot go to waste by not showing up. Give others the chance to fill your spot. If you did not register this is not necessary, because I will automatically draw the next winner.
When you finished the three mandatory beginners course dates, you can show up and practice during the open range times, for the whole semester. You can use the university bow, quiver, bowstand, armguard and tab for the whole semester.
There will be excursions to 3D ranges (privately organized) you can also join if interested. We usually go to ranges, that are fun for new beginners, too.
During the semester the course instructor will also offer a few advanced lessons, you can join for free. But just in case, you might ask before, if it already makes sense to join as beginner.
And of course if you have questions to your equipment or your shooting technique I can usually always help you. And we have more shopping tips for your own equipment.

If you cannot participate on the three beginners course dates: please unregister before the course as soon as you know you will not be able to participate after all for whatever reason. Please don’t let this spot go to waste by not showing up. Give others the chance to fill your spot. If there will repeatedly open spots, because people don’t show up, we might have to do a lottery here, too. But we hope we don’t.
When you finished the three mandatory beginners course dates, you can show up and practice during the open range times, for the whole semester. You can use the university bow for the whole semester, and the arrows for about a month, then you should get your own (see also Links for archery).

There is a small change, I will try out from now on, until I say otherwise. You do NOT have to come to the information evening.
At the first time, the course instructor will have to check your equipment. But usually at this point, anyone who said to be advanced is advanced.

So far, I can say, that all advanced archers, that showed up at the information evening got in. So, since this trend seems to be continuing I might lift the restrictions to join for advanced archers at some point. But if and how I will do that, I will have to think about.

Advanced archer*ettes can contact me any time with the contact form in the course description of the AHS site (just click on my name). Explain to me, why you are an advanced archer*ette and if I am convinced I will give you the password to register. The rest of the description here stays the same.
